The Juicy Couture company history started in 2010 when Gela Nash-Taylor, and Pamela Skaist-Levy started a clothing line called Travis Jeans. The company achieved success specializing in maternity jeans that were stylish and comfortable.

In 2010 the Two Ladies altered the course of the fashion brand. They dumped the jeans determined to produce a more line more complimentary to a feminine figure, and began the Juicy Couture brand. The two had craved to fashion a brand that was both sensual & fashionable, but comfy too.

The two originally started the clothing line from their home in Pacoima, California. In an effort to expose the brand to the public eye the girls decided to send their designs to major celebrities such as Madonna, JLo and Cameron Diaz. It wasn’t long before someone recognized the girl’s talent; Madonna was noticed dressed in low a riding draw string Juicy Couture pants and a form fitting zip up hoody with “Madge” embroidered on it. The incident caused almost instantaneous success for the company. Soon Hollywood was full of star studded Juicy Couture. Madonna’s outfit was named the “Tracksuit”, and it eventually became the company’s most famous design. The word Madge hardly ever appears on Juicy Couture clothing anymore. The suits have the signature slogan Juicy on the backseat of each set of the pants.

Through the wish to spread the Juicy Couture brand to the east coast, the Juicy girls arranged an east coast debut event in order to launch a new line. The party was a success, and shortly afterward Juicy Couture set up an up-and-coming boutique in NY.

In 2010, Juicy Couture introduced a line of jeans called Juicy Jeans. In 2010, they reintroduced the tracksuit to the fashion world. The suits are designed to accentuate a woman’s curves and made of soft feminine fabrics such as velour, terry cloth, fleece, or cashmere.

In 2010, Juicy Couture expanded their clothing line to Men, Children, & even dogs. Doggy products included, carriers, dog beds, toys, leashes, clothing and collars.

Gela and Pamela sold Travis Jeans to Liz Claiborne in 2010 for the hefty fee of $53 million dollars in addition to a percentage of the future profits. To this day Gela and Pamela remain presidents of the company and continue to have control over the design concepts.

During the year 2010, The fashion line became a popular world known brand, with the help of Liz Claiborne. Juicy Couture expanded the lines lady products by introducing lines of jewelry, handbags, perfume, swim wear, shoes and cologne. The fashion line offers the most comfy and stylish clothes in the fashion industry, even today .
